Hockney – Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature

Featuring vivid paintings inspired by the East Yorkshire landscape David Hockney's latest exhition, Hockney - Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature, is now open at the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam.

The world-famous art of David Hockney (1937) is colourful and colossal. Hockney is inspired by nature, he makes use of bright colours and experiments with perspective. Van Gogh also dealt with this. The resemblances between the two artists are no coincidence. Vincent van Gogh was a great source of inspiration for David Hockney.

The Yorkshire Wolds provided the inspiration for the remarkable series of artworks that span 50 years of Hockney's fascination with the area. Why not visit the inspiration first hand and discover what makes the Yorkshire Wolds so special?
