Visit The Deep, Hull’s award-winning aquarium and enjoy a fun-filled family day. Situated just a 5 minute walk from Hull Marina and a short stroll to the City Centre, The Deep is in the perfect location for visitors to enjoy the City of Hull and all it has to offer as City of Culture for 2017, making it part of a fabulous day out for all.
Let us take you on a journey of the seas - travel through the story of the world's oceans from warm tropical lagoons to the icy cold Antarctic seas. Enjoy the fun and educational interactive and audio-visual presentations throughout. With over 3,500 fish including spectacular sharks and rays, including the UK’s only pair of Green sawfish, hundreds of tropical reef fish in the newly refurbished lagoon, Loggerhead sea turtles and a colony of Gentoo penguins, there is something to keep all ages entertained.
Daily highlights include:
• dive shows where you can see the divers hand feed the animals (Monday to Friday at Endless Ocean – please note Tuesday and Thursday are cleaning dives, Saturday at Lagoon of Light and Sunday at the Amazon Flooded Forest)
• touch pool sessions at Discovery Corner
• watch twice-daily penguin feeds in the Kingdom of Ice
• walking though the underwater tunnel
• riding in the bubble lift through the 10m Endless Oceans exhibit

Food & Drink
Castaway's - Situated on the 3rd floor, with great views over the Humber, Castaways Café is open from 10.00am to 5.30pm every day). Offering hot breakfasts (until 11.30am), a range of hot meals and salads (until 3.00pm), plus snacks, cakes, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks. Children's meals and special dietary requirements are all catered for. Tables that have been raised for easier wheelchair access are also available within this café. There is a baby feeding station located in this café with bottle and food warming facilities. You don't need an entry ticket to visit the café.
Half Way café
Open during peak periods the Halfway Café is located in the exhibition (next to the Cool Seas). It serves a variety of sandwiches, hot and cold snacks and drinks. There is also a picnic area located close to this café.
Picnic areas - Picnic benches are located outside of the visitor attraction and a small picnic place area in the exhibition (next to Cool Seas). We cannot guarantee you will always find a table as this area may be used by school parties. We offer a baby warming station in this area.
Two Rivers Restaurant - The Deep is home to the superb Two Rivers restaurant. Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm, dine with the sharks and experience spectacular views all around whilst enjoying a freshly prepared menu sourced from locally produced ingredients. Access for all - The Deep offers a wide range of access aids to assist visitors with additional needs. These include audio and Braille guides, large print leaflets, foreign language leaflets, social stories for people with autism and mobility aids. The Deep has a Changing Places facility. Providing anyone with additional needs and their carers with additional space and equipment..

The Changing Places facility is open to any who need it, not just those visiting The Deep and can be found on the Ground Floor near the lifts. It can be accessed using a radar key, which our reception staff can provide if you don't have your own.

Opening details
Open every day excluding Christmas eve and Christmas Day from 10am – 6pm (5pm).
The last admission is 5pm although the recommended latest visit time is 4pm
Approximate visit time: 2 hours.
Although we make every attempt to keep queues to a minimum, please be aware that there will be a queuing system on busy days. We strongly recommend visitors to arrive at The Deep after 2pm on a weekend or school holiday days to avoid the crowds. We are a 2 - 3 hour attraction and do not close until 6pm so there is plenty of time to enjoy The Deep.

By Road:
From the South & South West: Follow the signs for Hull & Humber Bridge then for A63 and Hull City Centre. Continue into Hull following the signs for the Ferry. This route will take you straight over two sets of traffic lights past Princes Quay Shopping Centre (on the left) and the Marina (on the right) and over Myton Bridge. At the first roundabout turn left - signposted City Centre North. Almost immediately turn left into Citadel Way (opposite Victoria Dock Tavern). Continue to the end of the road to a T-junction. Turn left and follow the signs for The Deep.
From the North: Take the A1079 towards Beverley then follow signs for the Humber Bridge and the A164. Take the A63 signposted Hull City Centre. Continue into Hull following the signs for the ""Ferry"". From the East & Hull Dock: Proceed along the A1033 towards Hull. At second roundabout turn right - signposted City Centre North. Almost immediately turn left into Citadel Way (opposite Victoria Dock Tavern). Continue to the end of the road to a T-junction. Turn left and follow the signs for The Deep.
By Public Transport:
Buses/rail - For up to date information on bus timetables from Hull Interchange to The Deep please call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 open daily from 8am - 8pm (calls to Traveline cost 10p per minute, plus any charges your network provider makes). Train times into Hull can be found via National Rail. To walk to The Deep from the station, exit the station and cross the road towards House of Fraser department store and then follow the pedestrian signs to The Deep.
There is a Park and Ride facility from Priory Park, Hessle. This is 5 miles west of Hull on the A63 approach road into the city. It is signposted from the A15, A63 and the Humber Bridge.
Taxis are available from outside the station for approximately £5.00 single fare.
To walk to The Deep from the station, exit the station and cross the road towards Hammonds department store and then follow the pedestrian signs to The Deep.
