Details

Chris Hill, 21, is a multi-award winning young flautist, composer, and musicologist. Having just completed his BA in music at the University of Oxford, graduating with honours. He is hoping to continue his studies at postgraduate and doctoral levels, using and expanding on his extensive knowledge of flute history, mechanics, and pedagogy.

With flute as his principle instrument Chris has played in some of the finest venues in the UK and abroad both as a soloist and as a member of an ensemble. He has performed recitals at venues including the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham and Albert Hall, the City Hall of Bath, Southwell Minster, St. John's, Smith Square and recently the House of Lords. He has played in numerous venues across Europe, including The Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy.

Chris has won numerous regional and national competitions, including the Thelma King Young Instrumentalist award and has been a woodwind category finalist 3 times in the BBC Young Musician of the Year. For his services to music, and supporting the cause of other young musicians he has recently been the Princess Diana Award.

Amy Butler studies with renowned British concert pianist Martin Roscoe. She achieved the highest mark nationally in her Grade 8 piano examination and was awarded a young musician's bursary from the Hull Music Recital Club.


She went on to gain the ABRSM Music Performance Diploma and studied for four years at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, where she won a choral scholarship and performed in many university recitals. She graduated with a first class degree. Amy performs across the country as a soloist, accompanist and ensemble pianist.
