The Laundry Cottage lies 1 mile to the east of Rudston off the B1253, adjacent to Thorpe Hall which is the family home of the Macdonalds of Sleat who still live there. They are your nearest neighbours ! The cottage is an old building which was converted into a single dwelling in the 1930s. There are 3 bedrooms, one double and two twins; a generous sized kitchen / dining-room with larder; hallway; downstairs cloakroom and a south-facing sitting-room. The garden lawn is newly laid and has two wooden benches on an Indian stone patio which is accessed from a dedicated parking area.

The Monolith, Britain’s tallest free-standing stone dating back to the Bronze Age is in the churchyard of All Saints, Rudston. The Church tower is of Norman origin. The organ is the first outside London to be provided with a detached console operated by electric action; was restored in 1996 and re-dedicated by the Archbishop of York. There is a memorial to Winifred Holtby ( South Riding ) next to the Font and her grave is to be found about 50 yards to the west of the church door.

There is an excellent network of local footpaths; the Great Wold Valley of the Gypsey Race
( the chalk stream which outpours into Bridlington Harbour ) is scenically very special and largely unspoilt; Bridlington Bay and sandy beach are about 5 miles away; nearby Stately Homes include Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House, Sewerby Hall, and Castle Howard; the Heritage Coast and RSPB Bempton Cliffs being 7 miles north of Bridlington.

Prices include bed linen, towels, heating, electricity, WiFi and VAT.
