Hull - UK City of Culture 2017
Hull is the UK City of Culture 2017 and the party has arrived! We opened our year with a huge fireworks display and an emotional series of installations called "Made in Hull". Now "Blade" has taken its place in Queen Victoria Square. This 75m long installation appeared overnight to suprise the city and will remain inplace until March. Looking ahead we have The Hypocrite at Hull Truck Theatre. The opening of the newly refurbished Ferens Gallery has had a fantastic reception with over 100,000 visits in just a few weeks. The next exhibition to be announced is SKIN a collection of 3 artists, Lucien Freud, Ron Mueck and a collection of images by Spencer Tunick called "Sea of Hull" featuring 3200 naked and painted people who volunteered to be photographed in Hull last year.
The word is out and events are selling out fast, Hull really is the destination of the year.
Now that seasons 2 and 3 have been announced there is such a huge variety of events you just need to be here to try them.
