Freedom Festival 2016 Prepare to be amazed
You’re invited | 2-4 | September 2016
3 days. 200 performances. Artists from over 25 countries. World class art; dance; theatre, street performance, music and so much more. See you there.
Hull’s biggest festival event, Freedom Festival – taking place in city centre across the weekend of 2-4 September - reveals details of this year’s eagerly-awaited line up.
A ‘gasp-worthy’ aerial epic, As The World Tipped; one of the UK’s most revered live bands, British Sea Power; entertaining and hilarious family attractions from the likes of Gobbledegook Theatre and The Flying Buttresses; a beautiful, hard-hitting new theatre show, Silence; a must-see from this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Hot Brown Honey; new commissions with Hull Dance – and so much more.
More than 200 performances can be expected at the flagship event as it celebrates its ninth year, having launched in 2007 to commemorate Hull-born anti-slavery pioneer William Wilberforce.
Renowned international artists from 25 countries, local and UK-based acts and over 20 newly-commissioned works will all feature in this year’s wildly eclectic, family-friendly programme.
