Group Travel in Hull & East Yorkshire
Chill out this summer at The Deep (19th July – 1st September) and help us support the Pole to Pole campaign. Learn about the animals that live at the North and South Poles and some of the threats they face, including over very own penguins!
See our newest residents swim, waddle and play in their new home in the Kingdome of Ice as well as finding out about The Deep’s efforts to help conserve penguins in the wild.
We have lots of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy including:
- Pull the plug pledges – make your very own pledge as to how you can reduce your energy consumption at home and stick it on our pledge board. This could be by simply unplugging your phone and tablet chargers or switching TV and game consoles off at the wall instead of leaving them on standby. Let’s all think of some great ideas we can do!
- Pole to Pole trail – collect your trail sheet from the entrance turnstile and complete it on your way around the attraction to be in with a chance of winning a very special cuddly prize! Learn about what animals eat and what may eat them as you go.
- Art and craft corner (Cool Seas entrance) - enjoy fantastic face painting and choose from a range of designs. Make your own mask and key ring and for all those budding artists out there, we are also holding a colouring competition with the chance of winning some artistic goodies from our shop! Pick up your Arctic or Antarctic colouring sheet, create your own scene and send it back to us to be in with a chance of winning!
- Penguin film - follow our penguins' Trans-Atlantic journey to the UK from Texas and see how their new home was built in our exciting film (footage supplied by BBC Inside Out) at 11.30am, 1pm and 3:30pm in the Endless Oceans gallery.
You can also enjoy our amazing dive shows where our trained divers carry out animal feedings each day at 2pm. Please ask staff for the location of the dive show on your visit. These feedings take place at locations including Endless Oceans, Amazon Flooded Forest and the Lagoon tanks throughout the week.
Don’t miss our exciting scatter feeds at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm at the Lagoon of Light and our Discovery Corner touch pool sessions where you can learn more about some of the smaller species native to the UK including bumpy starfish, velvet swimmer crabs and spikey sea urchins. You can join in these sessions at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm. Please note sessions are subject to change.
