Things to see and do on the East Yorkshire Coast
The Yorkshire Coast is one of real contrasts, from the haunting landscaps of the southern end, to the dramatic and rugged cliffs of the North - and all within an easy day's drive.
Families have enjoyed the East Yorkshire coast for many years now – numerous glorious golden beaches, traditional seaside arcades and funfairs, donkey rides on the beach, chalets, fish and chips and ice cream…
Children also love the busy Bridlington harbour, from where you can sail across the bay on a traditional pleasure cruiser, a pirate ship or a speedboat, or just watch the fascinating day-to-day business of the local fishing industry.
Visit Sewerby Hall and Gardens
You wont be short of things to do at Sewerby Hall with events running throughout the year, even dress the children in Edwardian clothing, a children's adventure playground and be introduced to an exciting world of mammals and birds at Sewerby Zoo.
The newest additions to the Zoo are a pair of raccoon dogs. Firm favourites are the Humboldt penguins who are fed every day at 3pm and the ring-tailed lemurs who are fed at 2pm.
Or you could play a round of golf or enjoy the putting green, or just stroll around the beautiful gardens and checkout the programme of exhibitions including the Amy Johnson collection.
A truely fantastic family day out.
East Riding Leisure Bridlington now open
East Riding Leisure Bridlington is a brand new £25million leisure development. The centre features the Splash Zone, a pool with two fast slides, and a fun area for younger children with water jets, and the clip and climb climbing wall.
It will also be the main hub for sport in the town, with a large sports hall, squash courts, Tone Zone gym and the fabulous MyRide, which will allow you to follow the world's greatest cycle tracks, from canyons to mountainside to urban streetscapes.
On the seafront side of the leisure centre there is also a new Tourist Information Centre and outlet selling snacks, icecream, tea and coffee, souvenirs and beach goods, so you can plan your visit whilst enjoying a delicious treat or why not take a souvenir of your visit home?
