Yorkshires Great Outdoors Partnership to Promote Walking and Cycling to European Market

P&O Pride of Hull

VHEY have teamed up P&O Ferries and the Great Outdoors partnership (North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, Ryedale District Council, Scarborough Borough Council, and Visit York) to promote our region at two major walking and cycling fairs in Holland and Belguim.

The Fiets and Wandlebeurs (cycling and hiking) is the biggest fair for cyclists and walkers in Europe taking place in Ghent on February 9 and 10 and the second in Utrecht 2nd to 4th March. Approx 40,000 cycling, walking and outdoor enthusiasts will visit the fair looking for information on cycling and walking holidays, routes and maps, accommodation and ideas for outdoor activities.

Representatives will be on hand to answer questions, offer expert advice and provide information on everything outdoors across the Yorkshire region.
P&O have come up with special promotion for mini cruises and another offer 15% discount for Rotterdam and Zeebrugge crossings to Hull during February with the aim of attracting tourists to visit our region in 2018.

Malcolm Hodgson, National Trails Officer will also take centre stage when he delivers two talks at the show about the Yorkshire Wolds Way and the Cleveland Way to a lively audience who are looking to find out more about landscape and the leisure opportunities along the routes.
