Business Funding & Support Opportunities

Visit Hull & East Yorkshire working with partners are determined to support businesses to establish, market and reinvest in the future of the tourism industry in the region. We will list any opportunities we have to access funding or business support below.

Discover England Fund (DEF) Coastal Pass

Feature your business for free in a new Pass for the East Coast!
The National Coastal Tourism Academy is working with Visit Hull & East Yorkshire on a pioneering new project to create a Coastal Pass, to encourage visitors from the Netherlands to holiday on the east coast during off-season months.
The Pass is a new travel tool allowing holidaymakers to create their own itineraries and book places to stay, to eat and visit while watching interactive videos. This new technology is proving to be very successful in the retail sector and it is exciting to be a part of its introduction to the tourism sector.
The videos will feature the majestic beauty of this stretch of coast from the port of Hull through to Harwich, showcasing its sweeping beaches, captivating nature reserves, bustling market towns, historic houses, walking and cycling nature trails, cosy pubs and restaurants, as well as a wide range of bookable attractions and accommodation.
Why not have your business included? This is a unique opportunity to boost bookings during the off-peak season and to promote your business to a wider audience. And best of all, it’s completely free!
If you would like to participate, simply email sarah.loftus@coastaltourismacademy.co.uk and provide the following:
• An image of your business: this can be landscape or portrait shaped and the file size should be minimum 300kb and maximum 2mb.

• A brief description of your business: between 30 to 50 words telling us what you are. This will show in a pop up box that will appear when viewers click on the video.

• Your web address and, if relevant, your booking url (weblink) on your relevant booking site (e.g. booking.com)

• And, if you wish, details of a special offer: if you would like to include an offer that is specific to bookings made through the Pass, please provide:
˗ The name of the offer
˗ Brief description of what it is – up to 50 words
˗ Terms and conditions and validity
The Coastal Pass will initially be targeted at the Dutch market and will be presented at their largest consumer travel show (Vakantiebeurs – attracting up to 130,000 consumers) in January. To ensure you’re included in the Pass in time for the show, please respond by 15th December.
One final point to note: as this is a Government funded project, if you participate you will be required to declare that you have not received more that €200,000 from public funds (i.e. government project funds) in the last three years. If your company has been in receipt of this you will unfortunately be ineligible for inclusion in the Coastal Pass.
If you have any questions concerning the Coastal Pass, please do get in touch. In the meantime we hope you will want to participate and look forward to hearing from you by 15th December.
