Music, Fri 17 - Sun 19 Feb 2017

Hull City Hall

Hull City Hall

Featuring Goldfrapp's Will Gregory with members of the BBC Concert Orchestra, Evan Parker, Future Bubblers, Alexander Hawkins, Steve Cobby and a Jerry Dammers' Library Music DJ set, plus many more artists to be confirmed.

Follow the remarkable story of Basil Kirchin, the forgotten genius of post-war British music, and a founding father of ambient sound. This three-day festival features an all-star line-up of today's sonic visionaries. Kirchin's live stretched from the days when British dance music mutated into rock'n'roll, through a headlong succession of film and pop songwriting. He then retreated to Hull where he worked with young musicians Jimmy Page and Mick Ronson and created landscapes that challenged convention and fired the imagination.

Presented in partnership with Serious, BBC Radio 3, J-Night, Nova Studios and the University of Hull School of Arts.
