A successful partnership between Hull City Council, Citybuild, Yorkshire Forward, Network Rail, First Transpennine Trains, East Yorkshire Motor Services and Stagecoach has transformed the city's Paragon Railway Station into a pioneering integrated transport interchange. Travellers to and around Hull now benefit from having trains, buses and coaches together under one roof.
Visually, the Interchange is a very exciting building. Its state of the art facilities are truly 21st century, yet the innovative design preserves the graceful Victorian facade of the original Paragon Station building and enhances it with the addition of an elegant glass canopy. In fact, the sympathetic restoration has been awarded a sought after Green Apple Award for the Built Environment and Architectural Heritage. On the North side of the building is a wall of glass which allows light to flood into the main concourse and create a bright and airy atmosphere.
