The filming in Bridlington Old Town’s Georgian High Street as Walmington On Sea, including a superb St Georges Day Parade Bridlington’s Old Town 1940’s Summer Festival on Sunday June 11th will be the place to be for this fabulous NEW 1940’s FESTIVAL. Celebrating the new DADS ARMY MOVIE.
The Previous night Saturday June 10th,There is A BIG BAND Evening Concert in Bridlington Priory Church,by Echo 42 Band and ‘The Honeybirds’
The Beautiful Heritage Coast is within just a few miles,that was also used for the filming including the 400 ft Bempton White Chalk Cliffs Coastal walks and of course the resort of Bridlington just a mile away.
The 1940’s Festival area stretches from the 900 year old Priory Church (recently visited by HRH Prince of Wales & HRH Duchess of Cornwall) & Priory Green, up the ancient High Street to the top of the Market Place and beyond down Westgate & into Westgate Park.
A dedicated 1940’s Festival Car Park with Vintage Shuttle Bus will greet visitors.

-‘The George Formby Experience’ is headlining The SUPERB Entertainment with Lola Lamour , Madeleine Brown,Miss Marina Mae,Chris Myers,Brass Bands & Coastal Voices.
Julie Hatton Dancers will also be performing
Soloist Jessa Liversidge will be performing in the Priory Church in the afternoon after 12 Noon.
Murray Rose and his 1940’s Dance Music and Jeep will be on Gordon Corner.on the Walmington On Sea High Street.
There will of course be a Parade at 10.30 a.m.and a Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire Flyover Planned in the afternoon.
There will be over 70 great Food & Craft Stalls & Units including Hog Roasts,Trench stew and all sorts of delights.
Military Vehicles including those from the Yorkshire MVT will be both behind the Bayle Museum,a great Interactive Museum to Bridlington’s History and the Priory Green with its NAAFI CAFE in Priory rooms and its nearby Vintage/Classic Car Collections too.
A good selection of Pubs including the Walmington -On-Sea Brewery, Tea Rooms, Antique Shops & Galleries await the visitor.
The Walmington On Sea Town Crier from the Movie will also be on hand.
The Haworth WR28 and Pontefract Home Guard Renactment Units & 61st Reconnaisance are amongst the Groups attending and displaying.
The Children will also be catered for with some Fairground Rides,& Fun Dog Show & Greyhound Parade on Priory Green.
