Details

Paul Brunyee, Waterloo Association.

The battle of Waterloo and the Peninsular War resulted in a tremendous outpouring of writing both in letters and diaries. The East Riding is remarkable
for having produced two of the most quoted diarists in military history, George Simmons and Alexander Mercer and interestingly Beverley also has other
direct links to this famous battle.

Paul Brunyee of the Waterloo Association, with the aid of illustrations, letters, medals and antique weapons will bring these stories to life.

Paul is editor of The Waterloo Journal and is an active member of the Waterloo 200 Education Committee. He has recently contributed research
towards the Waterloo200National Army Museum website, worked in schools and has also acted as a guide on the battlefield.
